Expert says low oil prices affect public opinion of industry

Advantage NZ Petroleum Summit’s keynote speaker, Tischa Schuller says “Weaker oil prices and reduced exploration are likely to see an increase in public support for the industry in the US.”

Mrs Schuller says “During the last industry downturn in 2008 communities paid a lot more attention to the economic benefits they gained from exploration and production and operators should grab this opportunity and not be tempted to pull back from their community engagement, she says.

Cameron Madgwick, CEO of PEPANZ said, “We are excited to have Mrs Schuller speak at our Summit in just a few weeks’ time. Her experience in environmental consulting and as President  & Chief Executive Officer of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association should provide valuable lessons and insights set to intrigue and challenge this year’s delegates.

Mrs Schuller will present a paper on her association’s experience in the US fracking debate
